That is the number to decide on, because it is the number you pay in every year except the first partial one. Three free months followed by $149 annually is a different purchase from twelve free months followed by $149 annually, and both are a different purchase from $149 annually with nothing free at the front. Work out which one you actually signed up for.

Across five years a $149 renewal totals $745 before any free months come off the front. The same five years at $99 totals $495.

Florida Punishes a Missed Deadline Harder Than Most

Here is the argument for caring who holds this role, and it lands harder in Florida than in almost any other state.

Every Florida LLC owes the state an annual report inside a window that opens on January 1 and shuts on May 1. Filing on time costs $138.75. Blow the deadline and $400 gets added, taking the bill to $538.75, and the Division of Corporations will not waive that $400 for anybody under any circumstances. Leave it unfiled long enough and Florida administratively dissolves the company in mid-September, on the third Friday of the month.

Your registered agent is the party the state and the courts reach first. An agent who forwards documents promptly and flags the report before the window shuts is not a nicety here. That habit is the difference between $138.75 and $538.75, and eventually between having a company and not having one.
